Forum FAQ
We maintain several Frequently Asked Questions Links. The FAQ for this forum is located here. There is also an introductory FAQ. The introductory FAQ answers introductory questions about The Lightning PathTM, basic spirituality, and Michael Sharp. Finally, for those reading the Lightning Path materials and studying on The Lightning Path there is a curriculum FAQ. If you have a question that is not answered in any of these FAQs, please feel free to contact Michael Sharp directly with your question.
Links to all the LP FAQs are provided in the Navigation Tab on the right hand sidebar. Simply click the FAQs tab.
How do I see the most recent posts on the forum?
There are several ways to view the most recent posts on the forum. The easiest way is to click the icon just to the left if the “topic with unread posts” message along the bottom of the top menu bar (see item 1). This will bring up a short list of new posts which you can click to read. Once you’ve read the post in the listing make sure to “mark this post as read” to ensure the posting no longer appears in the unread posts category. Notice also items 2 and 3. These allow you to view new posts in forums you are either watching or are subscribed to.
If you like you can also see new posts in the corner of each forum slice (see below). Page down through each of the forums and you will see a little red balloon indicating a forum has new posts. To view the posts simply click the forum title or folder to open the forum listing.
Finally, if scan the sidebar of the forum you will see a widget that says “Recent Content.” Click the Recent Posts tab to view a list of the ten most recent posts on the forum.Click the title of the post to view the post.
Note that the sidebar also contains a tab for “Recent LP Content.” This tab lists the most recent posts across all Lightning Path sites and is therefore a quick way to bring yourself up to date on new articles and content.
I wanted to change the topic of the above post from “Bulletin Board” to “Help with New Forum” as some other questions are arising, but this doesn’t seem possible. So, I decided to delete it and start afresh, but I couldn’t work out how to do that either.
How do we delete a post?
On the top of the message just above the text area is a button bar. If you have access to editing functions for that specific post then a little wrench icon will appear on the left hand side (see graphic).
Press the editing button to bring up a popup like the one you see below. All functions that you have access to will be made available to you on this bar.
Mr Papa on the Simple Press Support Forums says:
Watching topics simply creates a list that you can check on from time to time. say someone posted something that interested you, but you didnt have time at the moment to follow through. It is really just flagging it for yourself as interested. Subscribing will cause an email to be sent to you each time someone posts to the topic.
